Little Wishes™ grants the immediate and ongoing wishes of chronically and critically ill, hospitalized children to ease their discomfort, bring them moments of joy and brighten long hospital stays. All wishes are granted in the hospital to give a child something positive to look forward to and provide much needed distraction.
For the month of November, BMW of San Francisco will donate $20 to Little Wishes for each new social media follower! All you have to do is:
“Little Wishes has added so much to our lives. Parker has been in and out of hospitals for the last 6 years fighting cancer. When we want him to get in the car to drive one way to the hospital (3 hours), he now gets excited because it is his “wish” day! Thanks for such an amazing gift… “quality of life” when we don’t know what his time will entail.”
Sometimes real superheroes help small children fight BIG battles, and the extraordinary individuals at Little Wishes do just that! Founded by two pediatric nurses, the non-profit Little Wishes™ allows seriously ill, hospitalized children in the Bay Area to wish for something that will fill their heart and brighten their darkest days.
Each wish provides much needed joy to ease the discomfort of long hospitalizations. To a chronic or critically ill hospitalized child, a seemingly simple wish—a Disney princess dress, Spiderman figurines, or cozy bedding — makes a huge difference. Wishes offer a welcome distraction, brighten long days and are a tangible expression of community compassion, love and support.
What makes Little Wishes™ program unique?
All wishes are granted in the hospital, and a child may make another wish 14 days after receiving their first little wish and every 14 days thereafter! Recurring wishes improve the quality of life for children enduring rigorous treatments and long hospitalization of weeks, months and even years.
Little Wishes has already enhanced the lives of thousands of children and families across a network of 22 participating hospitals throughout the country and hope to expand its program to support more children in need at local Bay Area hospitals and beyond.
