The exterior paint scheme on the 2014 BMW i3 is a fiery Solor Orange hue and is just the beginning to this three-door coupe's exclusive design. BMW calls it LifeDrive architecture. We call it uber-cool. This sassy ride features opposing coach doors and comes shod with 19-in. light-alloy wheels with a double-spoke design wrapped in narrow, reduced rolling-resistance tires that are bigger in the rear. Inside, this BMW includes a mixture of leather, wood, wool and other renewable raw materials that are, simply put, incredibly chic. BMW offers three packages for the 2014 i3: Mega World, Giga World and Tera World. Upholstery in Mega models is a lightweight Sensatec faux leather and fabric--all made from recycled materials. The steering wheel comes in gray leather, and the whole cabin is sprinkled with "i blue" accents. The Giga World includes active-climate wool and extremely soft, olive-leaf tanned leather (in beige) for the seat's materials. The steering wheel is also in gray leather, there's a sunroof, and the wheels show up in 19-in. forged aluminum. The last package is the Tera, which offers owners extremely soft, olive-leaf naturally tanned leather, in black, with handcrafted stitching lines. This group also receives a black leather-wrapped steering wheel. BMW makes available larger 20-in. rims, too. The light eucalyptus wood used for the areas above the steering column and behind the instrument cluster is sourced from certified sustainability managed European forests and treated using natural materials. Accenting the wood are control panels with brushed-aluminum accent strips. The iDrive Controller and control buttons are located on the center console between the driver and front passenger, while the area between the dashboard and seat cushions is completely clear. This adds a very minimalist look.
